Missions Moment – Central America

Posted in: Missions

“Feliz Navidad!” All over Latin America there is a glorious celebration of Christ’s birth. We thank the Lord that our missionaries are free to evangelize, train leaders, establish churches and carry out community development.

We continue serving in international missionary advocacy with Missions Door—leading groups to the field, representing our missionaries to US churches, occasionally facilitating their travel and producing videos to present their work.

We are in our fifth year at Garden Spot Village where Paul team teaches Bible studies, serves on the Church Council, provides technical help and leads a team of residents and staff to Honduras for 10 days of mission projects at Campamento Converge most summers.

Janie serves on the Cottage Council, the Marathon and Dining Committees and in the chapel sound booth on Sundays. She also helps the Development Department with the Fall Festival and the Angel Tree project, and subs in the Village Store, the Volunteer Office and on the Jolly Trolley.

Nancy, Bill and the boys arrived in June from Senegal for a 10-week mini furlough, including a family reunion and five days of camping. John, Debi and their four came from Ohio for the Hutton clan festivities.

We miss our kids! On January 3, we will head to Ohio to visit John, Debi and family, and we are contemplating spending Christmas 2014 in Senegal.

Let us focus on Jesus who left His home so that we might have an eternal home in Glory. Have a blessed Christmas,
