Kevin and Marcy Carlson, Avant
It’s been a very long time since we last wrote to you. The time has really slipped by, and I can’t believe that we’re already well into April.
The Belén church has been doing well this year and continues to grow, thanks to what the Lord is doing. Several new people have become part of the church recently as a result of hearing the Sunday messages on one of the Christian radio stations in Guayaquil. Last week we had our yearly Good Friday morning service. I had the honor of joining Pastor Emner Padilla and two other young men as we preached on the “siete palabras”, the seven declarations of Jesus from the cross. At the conclusion of the service one of the visitors responded to receive Christ as his savior.
Thank you so much for continuing to help us by supporting Avant Ministries. Lord willing, one of these days we’d like to be able to thank you in person. Marcy’s mom is still with us, and we continue to care for her at home. We celebrated her 92nd birthday last October. She’s been confined to bed for over two years now, and it’s been a slow downward progression for her. She’s still alert, but talks very little, and sleeps most of the time. We’re very thankful for the ladies who assist with her daily care needs.
Marcy and I think of you all often, and we try to pray for you frequently. We need to schedule a visit to the USA later this year. I may need to travel by myself as it is nearly impossible for Marcy and I to both get away at the same time. Please pray as we work out the details.
Look below for a couple photos of the Good Friday service.
Once again, thank you so much for all you do to help us as we serve with Avant ministries in Ecuador. May God richly reward you!
