Praise the Lord!
For he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
(Psalm 26:6-8)

MERCI, GRACIAS, THANKS

In our Christmas 2017 newsletter we shared some bad news with you. At the time, our accounts at WorldVenture were over $9500 in the hole. Then things got even worse! The beginning of December the debt rose to almost $11000. As we say in French, “Aïe”! Loosely translated, that means “Ouch”! We prayed. You prayed. And many faithful partners gave. As we write this update on January 10, 2018 we are a little over $1600 in the black! Now that is great news!

Cynthia and I want to thank you for taking this huge financial burden off our backs. We really did not see how we could easily pay off this debt from our Social Security benefits.

A New Year, A New Start

As of January 1, 2018, Cynthia and I joined the illustrious ranks of those who are officially retired! We are thankful that we have been able to navigate the sometimes treacherous waters of Social Security benefits, Medicare, supplemental health insurance, etc. If you have already jumped through these hoops, you know what we experienced. If not, we wish you much patience and perseverance!

One thing we have seen through this whole process of change is God’s faithfulness to his promises. Though our circumstances change, he remains forever faithful to what he has promised in his Word.

Bonne année!
Happy New Year!
