Marty and Denise Shaw – WorldVenture

In two weeks Denise and I will head for southern Africa and work with one of our missionary couples on a unique project they are involved with in a location where there are few if any known believers. People are hearing the Gospel, but only recently. New and creative opportunities to serve in the Kingdom are what excite us each day.

There are far too many people in the world who have never heard the name of Jesus even one time, let alone know anything about the Gospel. Our challenge and ministry is to see the Gospel taken, shared and accepted among just those people. This work is physical, emotional and spiritual. Thus we covet your prayers as we travel to this area from July 23rd to August 3rd.

We are traveling outside of the US about every other month in field work. Some of the travel takes us to places where the Gospel is being heard, while other locations have only a handful of believers. Such was Marty’s travel earlier this year. That country was a closed country to missionaries and hostile to the church. Marty sat in a home with our workers and listened and watched as the Gospel was read. A recent email came to us that that person has now confessed Jesus as his Savior.

Keep praying!

Nepal isn’t in the news much these days, but we are still receiving emails about the work there. People are still living in tents in the midst of the rainy season. The local Christian workers are tired as they minister in the midst of so much need. We continue to partner with them and their vision of seeing people not only helped with their physical needs, but also their spiritual needs. Keep praying!
