SUMMARY:Restoration Ministries Music Program Update
DESCRIPTION:Your response to the need of instruments with both funds and donated instruments has had an immediate effect on the orchestra. The donated instruments were delivered last month by Steve Durand and a group from Oak Hills Church\, who took them down during a recent mission trip to Restoration Ministries. The program has grown from 65 students to now 85! Along with those 85\, there are 350 students in Bible studies weekly. The Lord is truly using this ministry to reach students from the favelas. \nThe orchestra will be having concerts for the community in the near future. It is amazing how students are teaching other students in the many instrument classes! The orchestra still has more students waiting to join and\, with the help of other churches supporting the ministry\, this should happen soon. Included in this update are a few pictures of the orchestra presentation in a recent concert. \nWith such a large orchestra\, the string section is being drowned out by the large brass section. Therefore Adriana\, the director\, would like 5 string microphones to help bring out the string section better. We are looking at the “BAND2” acoustic pickup\, as they may be more suitable for children and less likely to be damaged. We are looking for those who would like to donate to this need. The total cost of the five microphones is $1200. Donations can be made to Bridges Community Church with a note for the Restoration Music Program. DESCRIPTION:Our Bridges family prays together virtually on Wednesdays at noon. We’d love to have you join us\, even if you can only get away from other things for five minutes. When we come before God’s throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need\, God hears our prayers and always answers. We invite you to join our prayer time HERE on Zoom every Wednesday at noon. The passcode is: Prayer. \nIf you can’t make the noon meeting\, a prayer group also meets on Wednesdays at 7:00pm on Zoom. Please use the same Zoom link and passcode as above. \nA third prayer group meets in person on Sunday mornings\, 8:30-9:15am in Room 521. \nAdditionally\, every Friday morning during the school year\, a group gathers at 8:35am at Los Altos Christian School to pray for students\, staff\, and families. The school relies deeply on prayer and seeks God’s guidance and wisdom in all that they do\, and they invite the Bridges family to join as they unite in faith and lift up the LACS community.
