As we celebrate Father’s Day’s this weekend, we recognize that many Christ-following dads embrace the fact that their greatest calling in life is to pass along a legacy of faith to their children. For many of us, though, we’re just not sure how to go about it. Consequently, we tend to parent by circumstance and by chance. We experiment. We react and overreact. And at times we inevitably grow weary and lose heart.

The good news is that, although it was not written specifically as a parenting manual, the Bible is filled with truth and wisdom that any dad (or mom!) can take advantage of in order to develop a practical plan that will give them the best shot at building a legacy of faith with their children. Today’s passage of Scripture will help us to do just that.
