Becoming More Multicultural

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Eleven o’clock on Sunday morning is the most segregated hour in America.” Sometimes we’d like to think American churches are post-racial, diverse yet united – but the reality is even today they are not. According to a recent sociological study, very few church communities here truly qualify as multi-ethnic.

We all know becoming more multicultural is an important goal. We all know it’s God’s ultimate plan for the church. But how do we get there? This Sunday we see not only how becoming multicultural was a struggle for the early church, but also, through their example, the path forward.
