A Time-Conscious Life - Ecclesiastes 3:1-15

The Chase

If you’re like most, you’re time-conscious. At least when it comes to getting to a class, work, a movie, or a lunch appointment on time. Punctuality is something most people value, even when they can’t make it happen all the time.

But in reality, punctuality is just a small part of living a time-conscious life. We’ll see in Ecclesiastes 3 that King Solomon came to understand a broader perspective on time.

He shows us two matters of utmost importance when it comes to living a time-conscious life. They are two matters that could make a significant difference in how we live our lives. Both are well worth making time for this Sunday.

This Week's Sermon: "The Final Word"

Why do musicians wait until the end of a concert to play their biggest hit? And why do we save dessert for the end of a meal? It’s because, as the old adage says, you save the best for last.

The same is true in the book of Ecclesiastes. Solomon – after having explored almost every form of worldly pleasure imaginable in an effort to find meaning and satisfaction in his life – saved what is arguably his best, most valuable piece of wisdom for the end of the book. And he summed it all up for us in one important, final word.
