The Art of Looking and Learning - Ecclesiastes 3:16-4:16

The Chase

Life is filled with opportunities to learn new things. And not just on a school campus or in a local library. Virtually everywhere we go – on the job, in the home, in the community – the possibility of learning something valuable is there for the taking.

Even when life is hard. In fact, maybe a better way to say that is... especially when life is hard.

If ever there was a person who mastered the art of looking and learning from whatever life threw at them, it was Solomon. And this Sunday we'll be looking at what he learned. Hopefully it will help each of us see the value of looking and learning from the challenges that come our way.

This Week's Sermon: "The Final Word"

Why do musicians wait until the end of a concert to play their biggest hit? And why do we save dessert for the end of a meal? It’s because, as the old adage says, you save the best for last.

The same is true in the book of Ecclesiastes. Solomon – after having explored almost every form of worldly pleasure imaginable in an effort to find meaning and satisfaction in his life – saved what is arguably his best, most valuable piece of wisdom for the end of the book. And he summed it all up for us in one important, final word.
