Brought Near

“Why do I need to be part of a church? I don’t need to be with other people in order to worship God. A person’s relationship with God should be a personal and private matter.” Maybe you’ve heard statements like these before. And maybe you’ve thought or said the same things yourself. The fact is that many people today view the Christian faith primarily in terms of individual or small-group activities, and think of being part of a church as an optional extra. The New Testament, though, gives us a radically different picture of church. What is God’s vision for the church, and why does it matter - not only to us, but to the world? Join us as we seek to answer these questions and more in a new sermon series that begins this week.

This Week's Sermon: "This is the Church"

What does the term "the church" mean to you? A place? A service on Sunday mornings? Your answer to that question can have a profound impact on your life, and also on your walk with God and with other believers. If you see the church as just another thing on your "to do" list, you are missing out on one of the most important things that can bring your life ultimate meaning and joy. This Sunday we'll be looking at some of the powerful things the Bible says the church really is.
