Life in the Kingdom of God

Just about everyone has some type of personal agenda. People have plans, programs, things they want to accomplish, and specific ways they want to accomplish them. So they make lists, set goals, and try to reach them.

God is no stranger to agendas. In fact, He has a personal agenda, too; something He wants to accomplish in His way, in His world, and in His people. Scripture calls this agenda “the kingdom of God.” And the advancement of God’s kingdom is, in fact, the central unifying theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.

So what is the kingdom of God? Why did Jesus spend so much time talking about it? What does it mean to be a citizen of God’s kingdom? And what is the kingdom of God’s relevance to our everyday lives?

This Week's Message: Kingdom Choices Part 2

Most of us don’t enjoy being told what to do. We’d rather keep our options open, make our own decisions, and shape our own future through our own choices. If you can relate at all to that feeling, then the Bible has some very good news for you: God does give us the ability to make our own choices and to decide certain things for ourselves. However, with that freedom also comes the timeless truth that our choices always have consequences - sometimes even long-term consequences - that must be taken into account. So, as we conclude our series on the Sermon on the Mount, we’ll finish looking at the inescapable choices that God puts before every person who has ever lived, all of which have life-altering ramifications. How will you choose?
