This Sunday we continue our 2-part series - “Jesus Said WHAT?” - looking at a passage in scripture where Jesus essentially calls a woman a dog. … That’s right; you read correctly! No need rub your eyes or adjust your computer screen.
Does that sound like the Jesus you know – to insult others? Of course not! So then if that’s not what’s going on, why did he say it? Or maybe better put: why is it preserved for us to read today? What we’ll find is one of the most fascinating interactions Jesus had with another person in the Bible. And we’ll see in this woman a model for how to pursue God in the midst of hardship, even when it may seem like He’s against you.
