How NOT to be a Miserable Comforter

One of the reasons that the book of Job is in the Bible (not the primary reason, but an important reason nonetheless) is to explore the question of how to best relate to friends and loved ones who are hurting. So, how should we respond -- and how should we not respond -- when a Job inevitably comes across our path? That’s the focus of this week’s message.

This Week's Message: God Sovereign in Relief

Relief. When suffering has ended and the weight is lifted. When times of sorrow are over. When the hope of a better tomorrow becomes today. At the conclusion of the book of Job, Job enters such a period of relief, but what can modern Christians learn from this part of the story? Will our troubles eventually fade away? Will we enter relief as well? Who decides? Do we play a role? This week, we'll look at God's sovereignty in relief and see that we have more in our future than even Job could imagine.
