Jesus in Creation

You’re definitely not alone if you have ever read or heard an Old Testament passage taught, and then wondered something like, “Why is this crazy story even in the Bible?” or, “Why should we even bother with the Old Testament? What does it have to do with our lives today?”

This week, we will begin a new sermon series entitled “Jesus in Every Genre,” and the point of the series is to search the Scriptures in order to find answers to these types of common questions so that we can then begin to make more sense of the Bible and ultimately see how Jesus is on every page, in every character and story, and in every type of writing found in Scripture -- even in the Old Testament. It all points to him.

This Week's Message: "The Way of the Exile" by Pastor Steve Durand

We don’t often think about it, but the theme of “exile” is one of the biggest themes in all of the Bible. And the reason why it is so helpful to consider the various Old Testament stories of Israel when they were in exile, taken from their homes and immersed into a new culture that was hostile to God and to their faith, is because it helps us to think about the question: How do I live out my Christian faith today, while residing in a fragmented culture that is frequently indifferent or even hostile to my faith, and that does not sustain and support the deepest needs of my heart?

Join us for this week’s message, as we explore practical principles for living a believing life in a largely unbelieving world.

Scripture Focus: Lamentations 1:1-5; Jeremiah 29:4-7, 31:10-17
