The First 10%

When it comes to crucial conversations, it’s been said that we should give special attention to the last 10% - that part of the conversation that is often neglected because it's too awkward or difficult to talk about.

It’s true, the last 10% is vital in a conversation if you want to come to a healthy conclusion. But the first 10% is important too. It’s tone. The first words spoken. The whole approach one takes at the beginning of a crucial conversation can make or break the rest of the conversation.

This week, as we dig into the first 10% of Philippians, we’re going to see the approach Paul took as he began his “I have some things I need to share with you" conversation. It's my hope that it will help us all learn how to better approach future crucial conversations.

This Weeks Sermon: "Unfazed by Uncertainty ”

The future is filled with uncertainty and unpredictability. We want to know where the provision is going to come from or if our loved one is going to pull through the procedure or how this child is going to turn out or if our job will still be there next month or if we’re simply going to make it through this trial.

You may be uncertain right now about how a particular circumstance in your life will turn out, but you can have absolute certainty about one thing: Life may be uncertain, but God isn’t. As we continue our sermon series in the book of Philippians, we’ll discover how we can not only cope with unpredictability, but actually rejoice in it.
