The Problem of Partiality

Aren’t you glad that you can’t read the minds of others regarding what they think about you? And what if others could read your mind regarding what you think about them?

The reality is that for every negative or critical thought you have about some of the people around you, there are also people who have equally negative thoughts about you. Even if you are a Christ-follower, there is just something within each of us that causes us to jump to conclusions about certain people. We are quick to categorize and judge – and often for incredibly shallow, trivial, or illogical reasons.

If we want to have a faith that works, we need to embrace a different path: seeing people through God’s eyes and honoring those that we have a tendency to judge. That’s what this week’s message is all about.

Due to a pipe burst in the Worship Center women's restroom and subsequent repairs, worship services this Sunday, August 17, will be relocated to the gym. All other ministries will function as normal. Thanks for your understanding and flexibility!

This Week's Sermon: "Supernatural Healing"

God wants to use Christ-followers to bring supernatural healing… which, is kind of a crazy thought, isn’t it? The Bible teaches that, in Christ, we have access to a healing power that is literally out of this world. The problem is we don’t often see it this way. Instead, we tend to minimalize what God is doing – or wants to do – in the lives of those around us. And as a result, we can fail to join him in some amazing work.

This week, we finish our summer series in the book of James, “Faith Does”, to see how we can effectively join God in bringing supernatural healing to those around us.
