Kathy joined the BCC staff as Assistant to Family Ministries in September 2019. She was born and raised in Southern California. Early in her marriage, she and her husband, Chas, moved to Silicon Valley when Chas got his dream job at Apple. Kathy and Chas have four children who grew up in this church—Matt (and wife Amy), Sarah (and husband Ethan and two daughters), Andrew, and Rachel. While raising a family, Kathy was an at-home mom (with occasional freelance writing and editing work) who happily volunteered in our local public schools for 23 years, doing everything from room mom to team mom to serving on the Little League board to holding numerous PTO board positions and overseeing fundraising events. Some of her favorite people are preschoolers, and Kathy has been a teacher in our preschool Sunday school classes for over 15 years. When her youngest child graduated high school, Kathy was ready for a new challenge. This position has been the perfect fit and she feels blessed to be able to work alongside the Family Ministries team, and also now with Compassion Ministries.
